EcoNauru submits proposed funding request to refurbish, Meeting Place for Communities under the Canada Fund for Local Initiative.

EcoNauru has submitted a project proposal through the Canada Fund for Local Initiative, which the decision will be notified by the Canadian Government in Canberra in June 2019. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) provides modest funding for small-scale, high-impact projects in more than 120 countries eligible for official development assistance (ODA).

CFLI projects focus on issues such as:

  • gender equality and empowerment of women and girls
  • human rights
  • democracy and governance
  • peace and security
  • climate action
  • economic growth.

The CFLI also provides modest financing for projects in response to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.

EcoNauru Project Officer – Mrs Caasi Appi represents Nauru at the Pacific Forum Economic Ministers, Civil Society Dialogue Meeting, 9th May 2019, Suva, Fiji.

 

The Pacific Regional Civil Society Organisation was represented by elected members of the Pacific Region. The members present were from diverse groups of Civil Societies such as Religious, Environment, Youth, Women, Sport and Disability. The group efforts were facilitated by Mrs Emele Duituturaga. The lobbying representative raised diverse topics to ensure that CSO’s shared common values which would form partnerships with our Regional Leaders as a way for forward for the Pacific Region.¬† EcoNauru team would like to thank Caasi for her fruitful contributions during the CSO Dialogue.
